Urban Alphabets
Urban Alphabets is a tool for the individual to capture the typographical identity of a city.
Everyone can download the custom built smartphone application and transform signs in the cityscape into an own City Alphabet.
At the same time all letters are uploaded to an online platform. Over time the project creates an online database, which is constantly updated and shows the transforming character of the city itself. The application also allows to reuse the captured typographical elements and write personalized messages (called Urban Postcards).
